Overview

JuiceKit™ is a Software Development Kit (SDK) for building Information Experience™ applications. JuiceKit integrates with Adobe Flex to create components that are easy to implement and aesthetically pleasing. JuiceKit components include controls, visualizations, and utility classes.

You can get started immediately using and contributing to the project following these quick start instructions.

Examples

JuiceKit has been used to build many information visualizations and customer applications. Here are a few simple examples:

• Federal Recovery Act Treemap - This is an application of the JuiceKit SDK Treemap visualization to better understand the components of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
• Economic Census Data Treemap - Every 5 years the NAICS takes an economic census. We've used this data to demonstrate using JuiceKit to implement the treemap with additional controls to change some of the display parameters.

We will have packaged distributions available soon. In the meantime, you have two ways to use the project:

• Download the latest build from the continuous integration server.
• Build the library and documentation from the source following the Getting Started instructions.

Release notes are available here.

Currently, only Application Programming Interface (API) documentation for developers is available. We plan to add best practices and tutorial documents soon.

Requirements

You can download JuiceKit™ from Github.

Don't forget these requirements before you get started:

• Adobe Flash Player 9.0.124 or later
• Adobe Flex SDK
• Adobe Flex Builder IDE (optional)

We appreciate feedback and contributions from the community. You can help us out in three ways:

• Get involved in the JuiceKit development community discussion group on Google Groups to learn about best practices, tips and tricks, and questions and answers.
• [Coming Soon] Make suggestions and report bugs in our issue tracking system. You can help us stay focussed on the areas that you believe to be most important.
• Finally, if you make changes to the code and want to submit them for review and possible inclusion into the code base, you can do that on Github.
